Dave Hewett
President, CP, BOCPO
Dave enjoys assisting people on their journey to independence and overcoming their challenges in life. This passion carries over to the day-to-day operations of the practice and the growth of the business. He is always forward thinking and focusing on the best way to care for patients, staff and the business as a whole. The most rewarding part of his job is seeing people renew their quality of life. When you see someone get up and walk for the first time after a traumatic incident is so rewarding. Dave really enjoys getting to know each and every patient and many of his patients have become good friends. Dave has been a certified Prosthetist and Orthotist for over 25 years. He has a very diverse background with complicated cases from his time working for Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Springfield prior to opening Adaptive Prosthetics & Orthotics in 1997. He has traveled to Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to help children with limb loss in mission clinics. Dave is specialized in both upper and lower limb prosthetics. Previous to being in the medical industry, Dave was an aircraft mechanic. He feels his mechanical background really helps him when working with prosthetics. Dave is an avid skier who loves spending the winter months on the slopes with his boys when they are not playing lacrosse. He also enjoys volunteering for Skiers Unlimited teaching disabled children to ski.
